About the Role

The Digital Content Intern - Media Curation supports digitization efforts related to the archiving of historic images, documents, and other physical assets eligible for digitization. This position supports digital and multimedia communications for California Water Service Group and its subsidiaries across multiple states, primarily in California. The role involves creating digital assets, organizing existing assets, and improving digital content workflows within the Corporate Communications department, reporting to the Manager, Digital Content.

Key Responsibilities

Creating digital assets from physical media
Ingesting physical image assets into digital libraries and preparing physical assets for long-term storage
Authoring processes and workflows for digital asset creation and management and identifying areas for improvement
Creating assets for multiple platforms, including internal and external web properties, social media, and digital signage; and creating assets for districts and departments—utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Express, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, and other content management tools as needed
Organizing existing assets so they can be managed efficiently and to ensure consistency in use of logo/branding—utilizing Adobe Bridge, standard naming and filing conventions, and other tools
Utilizing Digital Content ticketing system for tracking, content creation, and workflow management
Attending meetings and trainings as directed by Cal Water
Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

High School diploma
Full-time student in a 4-year program, working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, digital media, or similar field and/or equivalent
Full-time student in library/information science program preferred
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Able to plan, organize, prioritize, and multitask
Valid California Driver License

Qualifications

Full-time student in a 4-year program, working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, digital media, or similar field
Full-time student in library/information science program preferred
