About the Role

The Digital Director at Pathfinders Advertising is a leadership role responsible for guiding a talented team across web, UX, and digital strategy. The role involves helping shape how clients connect people and brands through digital initiatives, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring the delivery of innovative digital solutions. This position requires a strategic thinker who can bring clarity to complexity and lead with empathy, curiosity, and collaboration. The role is remote but requires residency in specific states and occasional travel for client engagements and company summits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide creative and usability POV/recommendations on strategies, outputs, and other agency activities that are convincing and substantiated.
  • Work collaboratively with the Creative team to ensure brand and voice consistency.
  • Define and manage website roadmaps and feature backlogs to realize client goals and strategies.
  • Serve as a development contact for clients, third-party vendors, technology partners, and internal project stakeholders.
  • Be a user experience expert while collaborating with account strategists, developers, visual designers, and/or copywriters to reach the best possible version of a website, email, blog post, etc.
  • Perform problem analyses—identify root causes, outline resolution options, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems.
  • Represent agency POVs in writing, formal presentations, and informal client meetings, either remotely or on-site.
  • Lead and/or build personas and CX/UX journey maps leveraging data and insights across key audience segments.
  • Conduct market research with techniques such as A/B testing to guide marketing and development strategies.
  • Monitor and interpret digital analytics, participate in quality control of team outputs, and prepare/deliver presentations and pitches.
  • Collaborate with Account Services to develop estimates and implementation plans, assembling the right team for each project.
  • Maintain current knowledge of computer skills, software, and hardware to ensure the team remains on the leading edge of technology.
  • Attend all required employee orientation, training, department meetings, and company summits.

Requirements

  • B.Sc./B.A. degree required.
  • 10+ years of related industry experience (creative agency, digital marketing, or consulting).
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Proven development and digital experience.
  • Expert understanding of the advertising industry as it relates to digital executions, including responsive web design, APIs, database structure, lead nurturing, email, landing pages, user experience, content, SEO, etc.
  • Ability to simplify complex technology concepts to plan, prioritize, and seamlessly integrate solutions.
  • Understanding of digital creative processes and associated deliverables such as requirements gathering, discovery/research, architecture, visual design, development, QA, content inventories, wireframes/prototypes, design comps.
  • Understanding of digital best practices, messaging hierarchy, and color selection.
  • Excellent understanding of CMS and ecommerce platforms such as WordPress, Shopify.
  • Experience working with marketing automation platforms like Salesforce, Hubspot, Marketo.
  • Proven ability to use data and performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert knowledge of digital technologies and trends.
  • Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams under high pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with market research techniques such as A/B testing.
  • Experience with client engagement and formal presentations.
  • Knowledge of responsive web design, APIs, and database structures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./B.A.).
  • 10+ years of industry experience in digital marketing, creative agency, or consulting.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
