About the Role

The Exodus Road (TER) is a leading anti-trafficking organization dedicated to disrupting modern-day slavery through impact-driven initiatives, community training, and survivor support. Based in Colorado Springs, TER focuses on fundraising, administration, marketing, communications, and data systems, working with international teams and partners to create a world where no human is bought, sold, or exploited. The Digital Marketing Director serves as an integral member of the Global Communications Team, leading digital marketing strategy and funnel optimization efforts to drive growth and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize organizational marketing funnels from initial awareness through conversion and long-term engagement.
  • Develop and implement email management systems, including drip campaigns, behavioral triggers, lead nurturing sequences, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Create and optimize landing pages, lead magnets, and conversion paths to maximize funnel performance at each stage.
  • Implement comprehensive funnel analytics, A/B testing protocols, and conversion rate optimization strategies.
  • Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, and LinkedIn with a focus on funnel efficiency and cost per acquisition.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Global Communications to monitor website performance, focusing on SEO, user experience, and conversion funnel efficiency.
  • Partner with creative teams to develop content strategies and ensure digital creative outputs are optimized for conversion.
  • Report on funnel metrics, conduct A/B testing, and create dashboards for leadership visibility into performance.
  • Design and execute sophisticated email marketing funnels and automation workflows based on user behavior and engagement.
  • Manage prospecting systems, including lead magnets, profiling, and multi-channel outreach strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop integrated campaigns and align digital strategies with organizational messaging.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing or advertising with proven funnel optimization expertise.
  • 5+ years of experience creating and optimizing marketing funnels from concept to execution with measurable results.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop digital strategies and manage implementation on time and within budget.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, communications, digital marketing, or related field.
  • Experience in funnel architecture, design, and optimization across multiple channels and touchpoints.
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms, automation workflows, and advanced segmentation strategies.
  • Proven expertise in paid advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and funnel analytics tools.
  • Proficiency with A/B testing tools, heat mapping software, and conversion rate optimization platforms.
  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to work cross-functionally, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to translate complex digital marketing concepts into actionable strategies and creative briefs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Virtuous, or similar digital platforms.
  • Copywriting skills with attention to messaging for conversion.
  • Experience managing website design and digital platform experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, communications, digital marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of digital marketing experience with a focus on funnel optimization.
  • At least 5 years of experience in creating and managing marketing funnels.

  • Competitive salary range of $67,550 - $79,375 annually.
