About the Role

The Digital Marketing Manager at the University of Houston manages the day-to-day operations of a large university program or department, including supervising staff, developing procedures, managing fiscal activities, and overseeing communications and marketing efforts. Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university program or department, including supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs, or processes.
  • Plans and develops procedures for administering a large or complex department or program.
  • Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
  • Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
  • Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
  • Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
  • Administers grants and grant-related communications, scholarships, and other operations.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Manages website and content to ensure accuracy; manages social media content creation, deployment, and engagement.
  • Writes and edits content for CRM platforms, marketing campaigns, and newsletters.
  • Develops graphic designs for electronic and print media.
  • Advises prospective and enrolled students regarding online and special programs.
  • Coordinates and participates in recruitment activities, including recruitment events, open houses, information sessions, and webinars.

Requirements

  • A thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline.
  • A 4-year degree from a college or university or equivalent specialized training related to the work.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced understanding of marketing across social media platforms, including audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience or familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO optimization strategies, UI and UX design.
  • Experience or familiarity with graphic design software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

  • A 4-year degree or equivalent specialized training.
