Job Description

About the Role

The Digital Marketing Specialist at United Way of Northeast Florida will develop and execute effective digital strategies to grow revenue, increase brand understanding, and foster engagement with current and prospective donors, volunteers, partners, and the community. This role reports to the Marketing and Communications Director, does not manage staff, and involves creating digital content, managing campaigns, and staying informed on digital marketing trends to enhance outreach and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital strategies focused on increased donor acquisition, engagement, and retention
  • Create, test, and optimize email journeys and newsletters aligned with organizational goals
  • Produce story-driven content for digital channels including blog, website, newsletters, and social media
  • Build content marketing plans aligned with fundraising and volunteer goals, integrating email, blog, and social media content
  • Assist in creating digital assets for email, web, and social platforms using templates or design tools
  • Use photography and video editing tools like Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Express for social and email content
  • Maintain a digital content calendar in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Attend United Way events to create real-time social media content and post-event digital assets
  • Monitor and respond to social media comments and messages, escalating as needed
  • Stay informed on digital marketing trends and suggest creative improvements
  • Conduct website audits to ensure content accuracy and currency
  • Implement email communications plans using best practices for deliverability, list hygiene, and sender reputation
  • Track and report on email, web, and social media performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics
  • Analyze campaign costs and outcomes to determine ROI and recommend improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisory team

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree; preferably in marketing, communications, or public relations
  • Two to four years of digital marketing experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills
  • Excellent copywriting, copyediting, and storytelling skills
  • Experience developing email campaigns and audience journeys using platforms like Constant Contact or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, YouTube, etc.
  • Experience with videography and photography
  • Experience with content management systems such as WordPress
  • Working knowledge of web, social media, and digital advertising analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Google AdWords)
  • Understanding of SEO and SEM strategies
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for web updates
  • Ability to support departmental initiatives and represent the organization at events outside office hours
  • Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and work effectively under stress
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts within a hybrid, remote environment
  • Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and proof of automobile insurance if driving on organization business

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AP style
  • Experience with content management platforms like WordPress
  • Knowledge of digital advertising and campaign optimization
  • Experience with Google AdWords

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or public relations
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in digital marketing
