Digital Media Intern (In Person) Fall 2025

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Observe and work with WKRG's Digital Content Team to learn digital media production.
• Gain skills in writing, search engine optimization, and live streaming.
• Select and design graphics for WKRG.com articles to develop visual communication skills.
• Participate in a supervised internship environment, adhering to the work schedule established with the station supervisor.
• Complete assignments and projects related to digital media content creation and management.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of AP style and standards for text articles and broadcast scripts.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Engaged in coursework or practical work related to writing, journalism, or digital media.
• Arrive with knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro (beneficial but not required).
• Able to capture video, natural sound, and interviews using phone or camera (beneficial but not required).
• Must be available to participate in the internship during the specified dates and be responsible for transportation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with video editing software like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
• Practical experience in video acquisition and capturing footage.

Qualifications

• Students majoring in journalism, social media, communication arts, digital marketing, or similar fields of study.
• Must be able to obtain and complete any necessary academic credit forms as determined by their college/university.
