Digital Publishing Associate

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide business analysis and project management support for assigned projects in Digital Publishing.
• Serve as liaison to external partners and vendors working with Digital Publishing as needed for assigned projects and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze processes and tools, identify problems and opportunities, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions.
• Work with Publishing Data and Technology Manager to develop and maintain data collection and reporting tools as needed.
• Generate routine analytics reports for the Publications Division to monitor the performance of AACR's journals in various dimensions, including site traffic, article usage, article citations, search engine ranking, social media trends, and performance of email campaigns.
• Perform ad hoc data analysis as needed to identify and interpret trends and address stakeholder inquiries.
• Develop business and functional requirements to support the selection and implementation of solutions.
• Manage projects, develop project plans, and monitor project performance.
• Develop and execute test plans.
• Provide backup to other Digital Publishing positions, including web page maintenance and email marketing.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in scholarly communication and publishing; scientific, technical, or medical publishing preferred.
• Experience in data analysis, business analysis, and project management.
• Experience with tools and methods used for obtaining, storing, managing, analyzing, reporting, and presenting data.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations, communicate effectively, and move them to resolution.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage, set, and oversee multiple priorities.
• Experience writing business and functional requirements.
• Experience writing and managing test plans.
• Ability to work within a team environment and collaborate with colleagues internally and externally.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and work with them to identify solutions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and competency in other Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Google Analytics reporting.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar business intelligence tools desirable.
• Familiarity with bibliometric data sources such as PubMed, Crossref, Web of Science, Dimensions, etc. a plus.
• Knowledge of website tools and HTML preferred.
• Education and Training: Bachelor's degree.
