Job Description

About the Role

The Director, Affordability Acceleration reports to the Senior Director, Affordability Acceleration within the Coca-Cola Africa Operating Unit. The role focuses on driving the affordability strategy by developing accessible portfolio options, optimizing commercial levers, building system capacity, and engaging with country teams and bottlers to meet performance targets in a dynamic market environment. The position involves leading initiatives to shape the future of Coca-Cola's category in Africa by increasing accessibility for mid/low socio-economic consumers through pricing, distribution, and portfolio development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute a significant part of the Africa Affordability Plan based on strategic pillars: Right Portfolio Development, Right Commercial Levers, and Right Consumer Demand Generation Initiatives.
  • Develop actionable Long-Range Plans (LRP) that translate Africa's vision into market-specific priorities, including guidelines for investment, co-investment, occasion activation, and portfolio evolution.
  • Drive alignment with key bottlers and provide clear guidance during planning phases.
  • Coordinate the Affordability Networked Team to deliver holistic, actionable plans by collaborating with Category, Franchise, Finance, Technical, and Bottler teams.
  • Develop End-to-End (E2E) plans from occasion-building strategies to POS activation to ensure readiness for fast execution.
  • Establish productive partnerships with the Affordability team, Franchise Frontline Commercial and Marketing teams, and Bottling partners to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Implement governance processes including project management for ABP delivery, defining KPIs, progress tracking, and dashboards.
  • Drive operational excellence by integrating business planning for packaging development and supply chain coordination.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in critical commercial areas such as Revenue Growth Management (RGM), point-of-sale (POS) execution, or shopper/consumer marketing.
  • Prior experience managing Portfolio/Channel P&L is a strong advantage.
  • Proven leadership in a complex system environment with the ability to influence, drive alignment, and execute plans.
  • Demonstrated passion for learning about business and cultural contexts, developing teams, and transferring key skills.
