About the Role

The Director, Content Producer for Columbia Records will contribute to content development, production, and strategy to support artists and releases, fostering creativity and cultural relevance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute content ideas, including shot content or animated assets for both major and developing artists.
  • Shoot or oversee the shooting of social-first native content, such as performances or narrative pieces, and manage the editing process to ensure high-performing social content.
  • Create and maintain a roster of external production crews, videographers, photographers, and editors for out-of-house content production.
  • Collaborate with Digital and Marketing teams to create a unique short-form content strategy tailored to each artist or project, considering artist profile, fanbases, niches, and genres.
  • Maintain knowledge of trending content formats across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in content creation, including photo and video production.
  • Proven experience in shooting, producing, and editing high-performing vertical short-form content, particularly using a phone.
  • Full knowledge of Final Cut Pro Studio and Adobe Production Bundle, including Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of the film and production process, including operating professional video cameras, lighting, audio recording, and post-production.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Deep passion for Hip Hop and Pop Culture, with the ability to infuse this into content development.

  • Experience working with social media content strategies.
  • Knowledge of current trends and high-performing content formats across digital platforms.

Qualifications

  • Experience in content creation and video/photo production.
  • Proficiency with Final Cut Pro Studio and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of professional video equipment and post-production processes.
