About the Role

The Director of Marketing is responsible for directing marketing strategies for products and services, utilizing customer marketing databases, developing targeted marketing plans, and collaborating with market research to improve response models and data analysis. The role involves coordinating market plans and launches to create demand, evaluating brand performance, overseeing marketing materials, and providing leadership to sales and marketing teams to achieve product marketing objectives within a global healthcare organization that offers innovative medical products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult on competitive analyses in the global arena, leading discussions on competitors' background and future perspectives, and evaluating analysis tools and strategies.
  • Build and synthesize customer insights, including developing customer value propositions, establishing targets, and cultivating new customer categories.
  • Lead strategic planning and marketing plan development, coaching others on creating effective marketing strategies.
  • Evaluate and manage marketing budgets, including P&L analysis, budget adjustments, and ensuring adherence to financial practices.
  • Coach teams on segmentation, customer targeting, and measurement of target audience preferences and brand positioning.
  • Drive brand stewardship by establishing long-term vision for product or portfolio brands, communicating company strategy, and guiding future competencies.
  • Generate evidence linking to value propositions, and lead efforts to align marketing objectives with business goals.
  • Lead strategic initiatives related to source volume, market expansion, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and manage multi-channel sales strategies, applying new technologies and tools for sales channels.
  • Design and oversee sales enablement, technical marketing strategies, and sales training programs.
  • Participate in forecasting, supply chain strategy, and pricing strategies to align with organizational goals.
  • Establish communication strategies, marketing channels, and effectiveness measurement frameworks.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, incorporate post-market insights into development, and utilize KPIs to improve value realization.
  • Lead business analytics efforts, promoting advanced analytics, and mentoring teams on performance reporting.
  • Manage a team of professionals, fostering personal growth, representing enterprise projects, and championing organizational and cultural change.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-divisional collaboration, build trust, and pursue emerging business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience, with 7+ years in medical device and marketing/sales preferred.
  • 4+ years of people management experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Persuasive communication skills without organizational authority.
  • Understanding of complex interdivisional procedures and policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Physical and mental capacity for medium work, including exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, coordinating sensory and motor skills, managing stress, and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Experience with strategic planning and market analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and medical device markets.
  • Experience in supply chain, pricing, and forecasting within a healthcare context.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • 7+ years of medical device and marketing/sales experience preferred.
  • 4+ years of management experience highly preferred.
