About the Role

The Director, Marketing AI Strategy at Okta is responsible for leading the development and execution of AI-driven marketing initiatives. This role involves building and managing a high-impact team focused on leveraging agentic AI and intelligent workflows to enhance productivity, optimize operations, and elevate marketing practices. The position reports to the VP, Global Demand Marketing, and acts as a strategic liaison to the central Okta AI Hub, contributing to the company's broader AI and business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Define and own the overall AI innovation strategy for the marketing organization, aligning initiatives with business objectives and a three-year growth plan.
Lead and mentor a 5-person Marketing AI Spoke team, fostering a culture of experimentation, development, and operational excellence.
Oversee delivery of AI solutions within three portfolios: Content & Knowledge, Revenue & Growth, and Customer Experience.
Partner with marketing strategy and operations leaders to identify high-impact AI opportunities and translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives.
Establish governance and prioritization frameworks for AI initiatives and promote AI fluency and adoption across marketing.
Serve as the primary interface with the central Okta AI Hub, ensuring adherence to AI policies, security, and standards.
Define KPIs and report on the business value of AI initiatives, focusing on productivity, efficiency, revenue impact, and content quality.

Requirements

Proven experience leading and scaling technology, data, or product-focused teams within marketing or sales operations.
Strong understanding of the B2B SaaS demand generation engine and ability to identify AI applications that drive business growth.
Technical fluency in modern AI concepts such as large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, and intelligent automation, with the ability to understand technical and business implications.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence diverse teams.
A belief in a 'Human + AI' philosophy, emphasizing AI as an augmentative tool for human creativity and expertise.

Nice to Have

Experience with AI implementation in marketing or sales environments.
Knowledge of AI governance, security, and ethical considerations.
Previous leadership experience in a high-growth or innovative tech company.

Qualifications

Experience leading and scaling teams in technology, data, or product roles within marketing or sales operations.
Understanding of B2B SaaS demand generation and AI concepts.
Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
