About the Role

As the Director, Marketing Analytics, US Oncology, you will take lead of marketing analytics within the US Oncology portfolio. Your role will be pivotal in driving commercial efficiency, advancing marketing excellence, improving inline assets, and accelerating new launches. You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Omnichannel, Data Science, Market Research, Forecasting, Finance, Market Access, and Data Management teams to deliver innovative insights and optimize brand strategies and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize complex data to derive critical insights for brand performance, strategy effectiveness, and underlying drivers to inform commercial strategic decision-making.
  • Manage large-scale datasets and conduct sophisticated quantitative data analysis to lead the design, execution, and delivery of actionable recommendations through storytelling and impactful data visualization.
  • Co-create the marketing analytics vision and roadmap for US Oncology and operationalize prioritized marketing analytics capabilities, including promotional mix, ROI, and other analyses.
  • Collaborate with omnichannel and brand marketing teams to define campaign measurement criteria, assess data requirements, and measurement feasibility.
  • Drive performance tracking for standard KPIs (e.g., impressions, clicks, open rates, NPS) to provide a tactical view of executional performance.
  • Develop and operationalize ROI/attribution methodologies across marketing channels (e.g., Promo Mix modeling, A/B testing, Customer Lifetime Value) to optimize investment strategies.
  • Analyze omnichannel campaign and program data to identify areas of improvement, delivering actionable insights to enhance the HCP experience and optimize channel performance.
  • Partner with GCS to scale marketing analytics capabilities, optimize vendor strategies, and mentor junior analytics team members.
  • Collaborate with Data Science and Artificial Intelligence teams to automate programs such as recommender models and promotional mix modeling.
  • Scope, prioritize, manage, and negotiate projects across the AZ oncology portfolio, often independently leading complex initiatives while providing technical mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the life sciences industry or at a consulting firm serving the industry.
  • 5+ years of analytics, statistics, or data science experience leading marketing analytics workstreams.
  • Deep marketing analytics experience, including omnichannel and campaign analytics, preferably outside of pharma.
  • Specialized technical skills such as coding proficiency in Python for marketing analytics use cases.
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and overseeing project execution.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of marketing data KPIs and investment optimization strategies.
  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced quantitative or marketing analytics degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, especially in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience working in Oncology.
  • Experience with attribution modeling, customer journey analytics, and recommender systems.
  • Project or program management expertise with success leading complex initiatives across teams.
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical/data analysis language such as Python.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in a quantitative field (preferred).
  • Experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry, with a preference for oncology experience.
  • Leadership and project management experience.
