About the Role

Join Komatsu and Be Part of Something Big! The primary objective of this role is to lead and unify all marketing and communications efforts across Komatsu's North America region in alignment with global brand strategy, while driving business growth through strategic messaging, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. This leader is expected to build relationships with key stakeholders, set and execute regional marketing strategies, act as the brand steward, generate business value through campaigns and content, drive customer-centric strategies, partner with global teams, and lead a high-performing marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees, reviews, and approves marketing strategies and plans, coaching marketing managers, building consensus and approvals from the business units and ensuring the team understands the input well for an efficient turnaround of deliverables.
  • Oversees the development of sales enablement tools, content, and other materials for Komatsu sales teams and distributors, providing strategic guidance to team members.
  • Partners with the sales and product teams to participate on Voice of Customer (VOC) activities to understand customer preferences and informs the development of marketing strategies, market segmentation, content and distribution channels.
  • Enables and guides research and documentation of key customer markets, connecting the dots that will inform decision making.
  • Guides the creative team and agencies to produce content that supports marketing and communication plans, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to global guidelines.
  • Develops visionary plans for Komatsu to stand out in marketing its products and solutions, collaborating with business partners for input and consensus.
  • Participates in global brand team meetings, providing strategic input and advocating for the North America region.
  • Identifies stakeholders and their needs, provides transparency on team capabilities, monitors outcomes, and builds effective relationships.
  • Manages priorities and activities, supporting marketing managers and project teams in daily operations.
  • Meets with executive leadership to ensure understanding of strategies, cascading information to drive engagement and retention.
  • Attends customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and oversees regional and local events.
  • Works with business leaders to define marketing priorities and budgets, executing budget control and resource allocation.
  • Determines how to measure and track ROI, refining strategies based on findings.
  • Collaborates with global marketing communications team for support on major campaigns, trade shows, and merchandise strategies.
  • Provides support to team members to ensure effective delivery of projects, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  • Leads and develops a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, goal-setting, training, and monitoring engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism.
  • 15+ years applicable experience focused on marketing, communications, product management, sales or solutions.
  • Exceptional writing ability, especially translating technical content into materials for non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of the product or service being marketed or demonstrated ability to learn quickly about it.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear communications for audiences at all levels.
  • Experience managing and motivating a team to achieve goals.
  • Understanding of customer engagement strategies and media response.
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills, with experience working with leadership.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and adapt to change.
  • Effective influencing, mentoring, and educating skills across diverse cultures.
  • Engaging personality with a passion for creating and promoting innovative solutions.
