About the Role

The Director of Advertising & Digital Marketing will lead and continuously improve strategy development, organization, scheduling, internal communication, and execution of advertising & digital marketing to grow all OSU Athletics revenue streams, especially OSU Athletics ticket sales but also including but not limited to fundraising, licensing, and sponsorships. This position involves developing and executing digital advertising campaigns, managing website and app marketing aspects, collaborating with various teams to promote OSU Athletics programs, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize sales and engagement. The role requires close coordination with multiple departments to ensure strategic promotion and revenue growth of all OSU Athletics sports and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and improve strategy development, organization, scheduling, internal communication, and execution of advertising & digital marketing efforts.
  • Develop and execute all digital advertising including email marketing & automation, SMS marketing, paid social, SEO/SEM, and programmatic advertising.
  • Assist in managing the OSU Athletics Ticket Website and ticketing/marketing aspects of the OSU app, with support from the web design team.
  • Create and place standardized attribution codes (codes, pixels, etc.) and adjust strategies to maximize impact.
  • Support Fan Relations & Sales with lead generation efforts.
  • Work closely with Digital Strategy on native & paid social media engagement strategies to grow sales & revenue.
  • Collaborate with Creative Services to develop creative templates & assets, including building, editing, or supplementing graphics.
  • Coordinate with Fan Engagement & Marketing, POSSE, Fanalytics & Business Intelligence to develop strategies, monitor performance, and conduct market research.
  • Develop yield strategies including pricing, packaging, policies, incentive programs, and schedules.
  • Create fan experience strategies including attendance & sales promotions, incentives, and competitions.
  • Measure performance based on sales, revenue growth, advertisement engagement, ROI, lead quality, and database growth.
  • Collaborate with various departments and external partners to promote OSU Athletics programs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field (degree must be conferred on or before start date).
  • Three years of related experience in Marketing, Advertising, and/or Sales.
  • Proven ability to drive growth in sales through innovative, data-driven strategies.
  • Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and goal-driven.
  • High energy with significant output, attention to detail, and strong writing skills.
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels including email, SMS, paid social media, SEO/SEM, and programmatic advertising.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in NCAA Division I athletics digital marketing.
  • Experience with Eloqua Digital Marketing and email platforms.
  • Experience with Paciolan Ticketing Software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
