Job Description

About the Role

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future is local - independent retailers around the globe are doing more revenue than Walmart and Amazon combined, but individually, they are small compared to these massive entities. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. We help small businesses discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores, leveling the playing field so they can compete with big box and e-commerce giants. By supporting the growth of independent businesses, Faire drives positive economic impact in local communities worldwide. We are looking for smart, resourceful, and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a best-in-class lifecycle marketing vision rooted in customer data, partnering with Data Science to evolve predictive models for hyper-personalized and dynamically optimized CRM-triggered communications.
  • Build and refine marketplace logic that powers CRM, driving contextual messaging based on retailer and brand relationships and order behavior, ensuring lifecycle triggers are integrated into marketplace logic to surface relevant products at the right moments.
  • Own and enhance the CRM marketing technology stack, optimizing for scale, agility, and precision, and driving advancements in automation, segmentation, and orchestration for rapid experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Analytics, collaborating on roadmap prioritization and technical investments to elevate messaging capabilities.
  • Establish a rigorous A/B testing framework in collaboration with Analytics, executing experiments to measure impact and refine messaging strategies.
  • Develop and execute a data-driven customer journey strategy to maximize engagement, retention, and revenue, ensuring CRM initiatives improve key lifecycle metrics.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing and Design to develop insights-backed creative strategies that enhance engagement and conversion across owned channels.
  • Grow and mentor a team of CRM and Lifecycle Marketers, fostering a culture of experimentation, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • 12+ years leading CRM, lifecycle marketing, and/or membership/retention growth, preferably in an ecommerce or marketplace setting.
  • Proven track record of building and optimizing CRM strategies that drive measurable business impact.
  • Deep expertise in leveraging Data Science models for personalized lifecycle marketing, including recommendation engines and predictive triggers that power marketplace order volume and customer engagement.
  • Highly analytical with an intuitive grasp of funnel optimization, segmentation, attribution, and lifecycle performance metrics.
  • Fluency in CRM technology stacks, including automation platforms, ESPs, CDPs, and integration with broader marketing and analytics tools.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to drive technical advancements in CRM execution.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams, recruiting and mentoring top-tier talent, and defining long-term career development for CRM professionals.
  • Ability to operate in complex, fast-moving environments, taking ownership of ambiguous challenges and driving structured, scalable solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in an ecommerce or marketplace environment.
  • Familiarity with recommendation engines and predictive modeling in marketing.
  • Leadership experience in building and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

  • Educational background is not explicitly specified, but extensive experience in CRM and marketing leadership is required.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range of $200,000 to $275,000 per year, with eligibility for equity and benefits.
  • Workplace flexibility: hybrid work with in-office presence in San Francisco, with options for remote work up to 4 weeks per year.
  • Opportunities to shape the future of lifecycle marketing at Faire.
