Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
  • Provides strategic direction for all aspects of marketing the Casino and Racing facility including Advertising, Direct Marketing, Players Club, Promotions and Player Development to drive business results and improve guest experiences.
  • Serves as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication.
  • Acts as a role model and coaches employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulates expectations.
  • Develops and implements the annual overall marketing plan, budgets, goals and strategies aligned with business goals set by the General Manager.
  • Plans, develops and executes racing-specific promotions, including the sale of ad space in racing programs.
  • Builds and implements property branding, advertising, promotional, players club, player development, and public relations strategies.
  • Manages marketing guest service initiatives of the Player Development, Players Club, Promotions and Special Events teams.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of all promotions and events including drawings, giveaways, parties, outdoor events, and more.
  • Implements, maintains and measures Hosts' guest development, retention and reactivation efforts.
  • Analyzes financial results of marketing programs and manages marketing expenses to budget.
  • Works directly with Corporate Marketing to review broad scope strategies and performance levels.
  • Monitors guest reactions to events by maintaining a presence on the casino floor during promotions.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
  • Acts as liaison with Maryland State Lottery Agency for all marketing activities.
  • Participates in professional organizations that promote the development of the Company.
  • Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years previous experience in marketing in the gaming industry, with at least 3 years at a managerial level.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all Gaming Establishment employees.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Related Field Required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with racing-specific promotions and ad sales in racing programs.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and analyzing financial results.
