About the Role

The Director of Marketing & Sales will collaborate with the property support team to develop and execute high-performance plans that attract customers, maintain an exceptional public image, and delight customers with fresh and innovative experiences. This role focuses on growing park attendance and EBITDA, implementing innovative strategies, and appealing to both existing and new customers. The position is part of Palace Entertainment, a family-held themed attractions company with a rich history of creating memorable experiences and fostering a welcoming, respectful environment for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead all aspects of the Marketing team and other assigned business units.
  • Lead by example and act as an approachable mentor and coach to team members.
  • Manage and control all financial aspects of departments, maximizing revenue and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry policies to create a safe and productive environment.
  • Participate in supervision of employees, including hiring, training, performance coaching, and discipline.
  • Propose and implement property-specific strategic initiatives to grow park attendance and revenues.
  • Coordinate and execute all marketing functions, including B2C, B2B/group sales, events, online marketing, promotions, and public relations.
  • Develop and implement annual marketing plans, communication plans, and budgets.
  • Research market dynamics, tourism trends, and competitive set to identify threats and opportunities.
  • Partner with support teams and agencies on marketing initiatives and public relations campaigns.
  • Deploy messaging across website, email, social media, and paid media channels.
  • Monitor marketing effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with park leadership and stakeholders on marketing and sales plans.
  • Analyze and distribute financial and performance metrics to meet company objectives.
  • Drive local public relations efforts and build relationships with community partners.
  • Ensure proper branding and standards are maintained at the park.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve guest experiences.
  • Leverage social media and earned media opportunities to increase awareness.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty program as needed.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with New Hampshire Child Labor Laws.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to resolve questions and concerns professionally.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to identify trends and sales patterns with customers/guests.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Advertising, Communications, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of related marketing, sales, or customer experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive managerial experience within a Sales or Marketing capacity.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; bilingual skills such as Spanish are a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Previous amusement park, theme park, or waterpark experience.
  • Previous public relations experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing and/or Sales, Advertising, Communications, or related fields. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5-7 years of related marketing, sales, or customer experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive managerial experience within a Sales or Marketing capacity.
