About the Role

V2X is seeking a Marketing, Communications & Engagement Director to support the Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC). Supporting the National Science Foundation (NSF), the US Antarctic Program manages 3 year-round stations (McMurdo, Amundsen-Scott South Pole, and Palmer), 2 research vessels, and many field camps in support of summer and winter campaigns. This position involves developing and executing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for a unique project in Antarctica, with deployment required to Antarctica and the need to meet NSF health and deployment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, deliver, and execute a proactive internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement strategy for the project in Antarctica.
Develop and implement an internal and external communications strategic plan to improve and enhance communication channels for the United States Antarctica Project (USAP).
Write and edit internal and external communications materials.
Advise and lead on internal and external campaigns and support the development of wider USAP messaging to promote V2X.
Work closely with the Project Director and Senior Leadership Team to develop strategies to improve employee engagement, enhance community and staff wellbeing, and embed V2X values and leadership culture.
Develop and improve communication channels across departments, working with the wider V2X Communications and Marketing teams and IT.
Ensure mechanisms are in place for effective communication flow, building a culture of trust and openness.
Implement branding and style guidelines for communications.
Evaluate the success of communication campaigns and use data to improve strategies.
Manage communications and marketing related to key business proposals, including liaising with partners.
Support the development and implementation of a social value strategy linked to the wider business strategy.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship and successful passing of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
9+ years of experience in developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies for complex, geographically distributed projects.
Experience measuring the effectiveness of communications strategies.
Experience engaging and influencing senior managers and stakeholders.
Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, including motivating others and managing interpersonal situations.
Proficiency with MS Office products and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator).
Ability to develop communications products such as web content, brochures, briefing materials, and marketing tools.

Experience in leading relationship formation with stakeholders and developing advocacy among key opinion leaders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or related field.
9+ years of relevant experience.
