About the Role

Watlow is seeking a dynamic Director of Strategic Marketing to lead the development and execution of global marketing strategies that accelerate long-term growth and strengthen our position in the semiconductor industry. This role will champion data-driven, high-impact initiatives that align with evolving market and customer demands—partnering closely with cross-functional leaders to shape go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate brings deep marketing expertise, strategic vision, and the ability to influence across complex global organizations. While this can be a fully remote position, the ideal candidate will be based near a Watlow site or key customer location. Regular travel to Watlow facilities and customer sites is expected as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive global marketing strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive strategic marketing plans that fuel growth in key semiconductor segments like etch, deposition, lithography, abatement, and advanced packaging.
  • Identify and act on market trends: Monitor emerging technologies, customer pain points, and industry shifts to inform forward-looking business strategies and investment priorities.
  • Enable smart decision-making: Lead market sizing, segmentation, and competitive landscape analysis to support entitlement share goals and strategic planning efforts.
  • Align product and market strategy: Partner with product management and engineering to define differentiated value propositions, positioning, and product roadmaps that reflect market needs.
  • Support demand generation: Provide strategic guidance and high-value content to regional marketing and sales teams to enhance campaign impact and customer engagement.
  • Elevate thought leadership: Create and oversee development of white papers, technical presentations, and training materials that build brand authority and support sales.
  • Fuel strategic partnerships: Lead or contribute to co-marketing programs, key partnerships, and M&A evaluations to expand market reach and business capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related field).
  • Semiconductor industry experience, particularly in strategic marketing or product/market development.
  • 10+ years of progressive global marketing experience.
  • Proven success in developing marketing strategies, enabling sales, and growing market share.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30-50% domestically and internationally.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience with market modeling, competitive strategy, or partnership development.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Experience influencing across complex, matrixed global organizations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to create compelling content for thought leadership, technical presentations, and customer engagement.

Benefits & Perks

  • Eligible for employee benefits and annual performance bonuses.
  • Annual salary base pay between $183,000-$257,000 (varies based on factors including location, education, and experience).
