About the Role

The Director, Product Development - Girls Toys at Basic Fun! is responsible for leading the creation and execution of product strategies from concept to launch, managing the entire product lifecycle, and ensuring products align with business goals and customer needs. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and fostering innovation within a company that designs and markets classic and innovative children's entertainment products globally.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement product development policies, objectives, and strategies aligned with overall company goals.
Spearhead research for new products, product enhancements, and rebrands, identifying opportunities and translating them into viable concepts.
Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from idea generation and prototyping to testing and successful market launch.
Lead and manage product development team members, motivating them and guiding efforts to achieve product objectives.
Work closely with various departments, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, finance, and operations, to realize product goals.
Conduct market analysis to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for new products and upgrades.
Allocate resources (personnel, materials, equipment) and manage budgets to ensure financial efficiency and effective execution of development plans.
Establish clear priorities, set realistic timelines, monitor progress, and ensure products are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in industrial design, toy design or equivalent experience.
10+ years extensive experience in product development and project management with a proven track record of launching successful products.
Excellent ability to motivate, direct, and lead cross-functional teams.
Strong skills in strategic thinking, critical thinking, and data analysis to make informed decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of software engineering, user experience design, and various development methodologies; experience with Solid Works, Key Shot, and 3D software is a plus.
Strong financial acumen, budgeting skills, and a solid understanding of market trends.
Strong ability to identify and resolve complex problems during the product development process.
Ability to travel, as needed.
Full-time on-site position located at the company's headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida.
