Job Description

About the Role

The Director of Product Development Pipeline (P2M) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for orchestrating Old Navy's end-to-end product development lifecycle—from concept to customer. This role is both visionary and operational, driving strategic transformation initiatives that enhance speed, agility, and innovation across the product-to-market (P2M) ecosystem. Operating within a highly matrixed, global environment, the Director partners closely with senior leaders across Design, Merchandising, Planning, Production, Tech Design, Quality Assurance, Fabric R&D, and Global Sourcing to ensure alignment, accountability, and executional excellence. The role reports into the VP, Product-to-Market Enablement and Operations leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategic Planning: Own the development and execution of the Annual Brand Calendar and Seasonal Pipeline Calendars, aligning cross-functional teams around key milestones and deliverables.
  • Drive Transformation: Champion enterprise-wide Indigo X P2M initiatives (e.g., Digital Product Creation - DPC, Speed to Market - Speed), process simplification, and operational excellence to accelerate speed-to-market and elevate product quality.
  • Advance Cross-Functional Partnership: Escalates risks and unresolved constraints; provides options and tradeoffs to create alignment on path forward.
  • Operationalize Innovation: Translate strategic goals into actionable roadmaps, ensuring seamless integration across functions and geographies.
  • Establish Governance & Accountability: Define and reinforce decision rights, RACI models, and milestone accountability frameworks to drive clarity and ownership.
  • Drive Performance Management: Develop P2M Pipeline KPI strategy and monitor pipeline health, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure consistent delivery against brand objectives.
  • Demonstrate Change Leadership: Lead change management efforts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, agility, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage Special Initiatives: Manage high-impact projects that support brand-wide transformation and innovation goals.
  • Continuous Improvement Efforts: Lead cross-functional teams in hindsight reviews and drive stabilization, optimization, and scaling through continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product development, supply chain, or related fields, with deep P2M functional expertise.
  • Exceptional collaboration and facilitation skills, able to navigate competing priorities and perspectives to drive the best outcome for Old Navy.
  • Strategic thinker with a growth mindset—able to connect future vision to today's priorities.
  • Analytical and structured, with a knack for identifying opportunities and navigating challenges with clarity.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with a strong bias for action and problem-solving.
  • Skilled at building a "one team" culture across cross-functional partners.
  • Strong communicator with executive presence and the ability to influence and facilitate at all levels.
  • Experienced in leading change and driving results in complex, matrixed environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a fast-paced retail or fashion environment.
  • Knowledge of digital product creation and speed-to-market initiatives.
  • Experience with global sourcing and fabric R&D.

Qualifications

  • One of the most competitive Paid Time Off plans in the industry.
