About the Role

The Director, Regional Marketing - West at Gilead Sciences, Inc., based in Phoenix, Arizona, is responsible for engaging healthcare professionals, building educational platforms, and informing brand and disease-state strategies within the hematology and oncology fields. This field-based role involves extensive travel and collaboration with opinion leaders and cross-functional teams to advance Kite's cancer therapies, particularly in hematologic malignancies and cell therapies. The position emphasizes leadership in developing long-term partnerships, strategic planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, all within a mission-driven company dedicated to curing cancer.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, profile, cultivate, and maintain long-term partnerships with National, Regional, and Emerging opinion leaders within the Hematology community.
Develop regional opinion leader strategies and communicate those plans with cross-functional partners to ensure transparency, collaboration, and alignment with a ONE Kite approach.
Interact with opinion leaders to solicit insights and develop advocacy aligned with commercial and marketing strategies, measured through sentiment analysis.
Engage in on-label conversations on disease diagnosis & treatment, referral dynamics, product positioning, and opportunities for Kite to win.
Plan and execute opinion leader interactions and executive encounters at conferences, field visits, and other venues.
Serve as a single point-of-contact to resolve commercial opinion leader issues.
Work closely with sales and marketing teams to maintain opinion leader coordination and role clarity.
Utilize insights from opinion leaders and competitive intelligence to shape brand strategies and tactical activities.
Identify market gaps, anticipate competitor actions, and drive strategic planning for market positioning and growth.
Facilitate planning, recruitment, and execution of regional and national advisory boards.
Identify, align, and recruit appropriate healthcare professional and opinion leader consultants to meet marketing needs and KPIs.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and twelve years of experience, or
Master's Degree and ten years of experience, or
PhD and eight years of experience.
Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including prior sales experience in hematology or oncology.
People leadership experience in the industry.
Thorough understanding of the hematology/oncology clinical landscape, ideally with cell therapy or stem cell transplant experience.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively (>60%).

Strong ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Formal educational qualifications as specified in requirements (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD).

Salary range of $205,615.00 - $266,090.00, with potential for discretionary annual bonus and stock-based long-term incentives.
