Director Server Product Management

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of the EPYC Server portfolio within the Server Business Unit with responsibility for driving execution from planning through high volume production and end of life.
• Lead and manage a team of Technical Product Managers.
• Represent AMD's interests in discussions with key customers & partners.
• Collaborate with engineering, business development and sales teams to synthesize market requirements into winning products for Cloud & Enterprise segments.
• Develop product specifications, turning into a portfolio of server products.
• Partner with engineering execution teams to ensure product requirements, value proposition and objectives are met and exceeded.
• Drive product migration across multiple generations, supporting consistent share growth.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in product management in Server computing products with technical experience in systems, platforms, silicon, and the software ecosystem that enables them.
• Strong leadership skills to empower teams and engage AMD executives, engineers, architects, marketers, program managers, finance and business development professionals.
• Ability to define a server product, articulate its value proposition, deliver competitive product TCO and drive product vision execution.
• Demonstrated track record of successful customer engagement building server solutions for Cloud, OEM, and end customers worldwide.
• Technical depth to engage with customer, platform and silicon engineers to craft products supporting business goals.
• Understanding of Server Product performance attributes and leveraging EPYC capabilities to position against competition.
• Ability to analyze market and develop product transition strategies.
• Experience leading and collaborating on new product introductions to bring products to market.

• Understanding of server product development including systems, solutions, platform, software, and processor technologies.
• Outstanding communication skills to convey concepts from C-level executives to peers.
• Ability to guide product definition using insights from end customers, strategic partners, and market trends.
• Excellent understanding of P&L management for a business exceeding $1B.
• 15+ years of experience working with semiconductors, microprocessors & servers.
• 5+ years of experience with direct management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• MSEE or MBA preferred.
