At Walmart.org (Walmart Foundation and Walmart Corporate Giving), we aspire to reshape whole systems to achieve significant and lasting improvement in social, environmental, and economic outcomes. We focus on driving shared value within the business and catalyzing broad sector change through our philanthropy. Walmart.org donates over $1.4 billion in cash and in-kind giving annually. Engaging customers and associates can multiply this impact by leveraging technology to connect them to causes they care about in over 4,000 communities across the U.S. This role is a core member of the team designing the future of this approach to strengthen communities and deepen customer relationships. The position involves managing community engagement initiatives through the Spark Good platform, creating strategic frameworks, leveraging data, and influencing through communication to maximize community impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design strategies to engage customers on the Spark Good platform on Walmart.com.
  • Innovate and test approaches to increase customer engagement that drives business reputation and loyalty.
  • Partner with third-party providers and Walmart Global Tech to enhance user experience on the platform.
  • Engage nonprofits and customers to gain insights on how Spark Good can better serve them.
  • Ensure a high-quality experience across the platform.
  • Focus on strategy development, data analysis, learning, collaboration, and strategic execution.
  • Implement operational excellence and strong governance and compliance across programs.
  • Use data and user feedback to innovate and maximize impact.
  • Design, test, and refine customer activations and tools to make an impact in local communities.
  • Partner with customers, nonprofits, and community-based organizations to understand their needs.
  • Serve as an ambassador and champion of Walmart.org, driving excitement and commitment across the business.
  • Understand trends and expectations for customer engagement and philanthropy.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to build authentic solutions leveraging Walmart's capabilities.
  • Develop approaches to scale adoption of tools and activations.
  • Represent Walmart.org externally at industry events.
  • Build capacity of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall Spark Good strategy.
  • Champion internal culture around doing good as part of everyday work.

Requirements

  • The ability to thrive in a highly matrixed environment, be self-directed, and create strategic frameworks in complex situations.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional business teams through communication, partnership, and consultation.
  • Experience conducting complex analyses to inform strategy and track results.
  • Experience in corporate philanthropy or nonprofit work, especially in local giving programs.
  • Ability to create learning modules, playbooks, or toolkits to maximize impact of programs or campaigns.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Communications, or related field.
  • 5 years' experience managing cross-functional projects for governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or corporations, OR 7 years' experience managing such projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Communications, or related field.
  • 5 years' experience managing cross-functional projects for governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or corporations.
  • Or 7 years' experience managing such projects.
