Director, Trade Marketing

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement national trade marketing strategies for retail and On Premise channels.
• Develop account-specific trade marketing programs in collaboration with the sales team.
• Support sell-in of programs by assisting in deck creation for customer meetings.
• Build and grow Shopper Marketing programming, tracking finances and metrics.
• Develop account-specific point-of-sale materials with brand marketing, sales, and vendors.
• Create and implement category sourcing strategies in partnership with senior management.
• Develop, grow, and maintain a network of qualified suppliers for trade marketing needs.
• Track annual budget targets by managing suppliers, spend, and performance.
• Conduct financial analyses to optimize cost/value relationships.
• Monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, and market factors.
• Maintain performance metrics and external benchmarks for data-driven decisions.
• Build and lead the long-term Responsible Sourcing roadmap, ensuring compliance with legal, social, and sustainability standards.
• Track and report savings, spending compliance, and variances to stakeholders.
• Perform supplier performance reviews and compliance audits as appropriate.

Requirements

• 10 years of marketing and/or promotions experience.
• Project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Solid background in supplier-responsible sourcing practices and standards.
• Experience in driving supplier quality initiatives globally.
• Proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with understanding of basic finance concepts.
• Experience leading projects and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work cross-functionally without significant supervision and within timelines.
• Excellent attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.

• CPG or retail experience.
• Experience working with a creative agency.
