Job Description

About the Role

The Engineer II role involves translating customer needs into technical solutions, often modifying existing products or systems. The engineer collaborates with customers, uses 3D CAD software, creates technical documentation, and works with various teams to ensure successful implementation and manufacturing. The position requires managing customer relationships, performing design calculations, conducting verification testing, ensuring compliance with standards, supporting quotation processes, and navigating engineering change processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translating customer requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Creating and modifying 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including BOMs and test reports.
  • Working with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful customization and implementation.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues related to customization.
  • Ensuring all customizations adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency related to customization.
  • Providing technical input for quotes and cost estimates for customized products.
  • Designing and executing testing and validation of customized products to meet performance requirements.
  • Providing technical support for customized products in production or in the field.
  • Training other engineers or users on the customization process or specific tools.
  • Traveling infrequently, with possible customer visits once or twice a year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (BS) in an engineering or science technical discipline.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Strong skills in 3D CAD software, such as Inventor or Solidworks.
  • Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, calculations, and analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to customization.
  • Familiarity with established problem-solving tools/methods.
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish, including setting milestones and procurement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (BS) in an engineering or science technical discipline.
