About the Role

Weyerhaeuser is leading the world's structural framing market with innovative products, systems, and services for use in a variety of residential, Multi-Family, light commercial and home improvement applications worldwide. We are searching for an experienced Engineered Wood Products Designer to become a member of our Western Specification Team that is aligned within our dynamic Marketing and Sales organization. The role involves providing technical design services, layout drawings, and material lists for engineered lumber and structural frame products, supporting our strategic partners to ensure their success and ours. The position is based in Spokane, WA or Billings, MT, and requires residency in one of these states.

Key Responsibilities

Use design tools and software applications to provide technical services supporting the design and specification of Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products.
Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof, and wall systems, as well as provide design calculations for single structural members.
Provide design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects, engineers, sales associates, and owners to offer innovative solutions to framing challenges.

Requirements

2-year technical degree or equivalent construction industry experience.
Ability to read and comprehend Residential Wood Frame construction documents.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice to Have

Residential wood framing construction background.
Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications.
Certification in structural/architectural drafting.
Previous experience with Engineered Wood Products (i-joists, GLB's).
Previous Designer or Estimator experience.

Qualifications

Educational background of a 2-year technical degree or equivalent construction industry experience.
