Environmental Data Analytics Discipline Leader

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of available data analytics technologies and platforms to analyze environmental data across various applications such as water quality assessments, remedial investigations, remedial actions, and treatment system operations.
• Assist with the technical sales, design, and delivery of data analytics solutions tailored for environmental applications.
• Collaborate with local, national, and international technical teams in the fields of business technology and data analytics.
• Work across multiple technical practice areas to leverage research and development activities, expanding the firm's environmental data analytics capabilities.
• Support marketing and business development initiatives related to environmental data analytics.
• Engage with discipline leaders, subject matter experts, and the environmental data analytics group to gather ideas and assess needs for data analytics.
• Coordinate efforts with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, designers, draftsmen, and technicians to design and implement data analytics solutions.
• Develop processes within Business Technology to evaluate ideas and initiatives for analytics tools and technologies.
• Review current data analytics projects, identify intellectual property for protection, and prioritize R&D investments.
• Work with and develop a team of data analytics practitioners with the desire or aptitude to develop their skills.
• Identify conferences, working groups, and activities to enhance technical visibility and promote capabilities to clients.
• Track business opportunities and client relationships related to analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years of related experience or equivalent additional directly related experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Experience in developing software solutions, dashboards, and analytics tools.
• Understanding of environmental analytics, with a degree in civil, environmental, chemical engineering, science, or related discipline; a PE license or professional registration is preferred.
• Experience in managing intellectual property.
• Ability to work across multiple disciplines and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Willingness or ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as required.

• Master's degree in science or related discipline.
• Extensive understanding of environmental analytics.
• Experience in software development and analytics tool creation.
• Interest in teaching and developing educational opportunities for staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of related experience; 10+ years preferred.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Experience in software development and analytics tools.
• Environmental expertise or related professional registration (PE, Geologist, Scientist) preferred.
