About the Role

The Executive Director - Data Product Strategy Lead at J.P. Morgan Chase in the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) is responsible for leading customer-centric product development, shaping strategic direction for reusable data products, and supporting AI and advanced analytics initiatives. This role involves engaging with stakeholders, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring data products meet business needs while driving value and differentiation within a leading global financial institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the product roadmap, vision, development, execution, risk management, and business growth targets.
  • Leads the entire product life cycle through planning, execution, and future development by continuously adapting, developing new products and methodologies, managing risks, and achieving business targets like cost, features, reusability, and reliability to support growth.
  • Coaches and mentors the product team on best practices such as solution generation, market research, storyboarding, prototyping, product adoption strategies, and delivery.
  • Owns product performance and is accountable for investments in enhancements to meet business objectives.
  • Monitors market trends, conducts competitive analysis, and identifies opportunities for product differentiation.
  • Develops and executes strategies for creating, deploying, and improving reusable data products supporting AI and analytics.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across the bank to align data product development, use-cases, and adoption.
  • Defines and deconstructs complex business problems to identify data product solutions and influences product development roadmaps.
  • Establishes and tracks KPIs to measure data product success, providing strategic insights to senior management.
  • Provides thought leadership through principles, training programs, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Stays informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure data products remain competitive and innovative.
  • Leads the design and development of data products that support AI and advanced analytics, ensuring they meet business needs and drive value.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise delivering products, projects, or technology applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design, and data analytics.
  • Ability to influence the adoption of key product lifecycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management.
  • Experience driving organizational change and managing stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics).
  • Diverse problem-solving experience, such as 8+ years in data strategy, product management, management consulting, or related fields within financial services & fintech.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of data, AI, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to apply quantitative approaches to problem-solving.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new topics and information with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with senior management.

  • Experience with AI and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Experience managing data products at a large financial institution or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies in data and AI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
