About the Role

The Executive Director of Surgical Marketing at Bausch + Lomb is responsible for leading product sales and marketing strategies across the Surgical Profile, including IOLs, Osmolarity, and Equipment. This role involves managing both healthcare professional (HCP) and consumer engagement activities, developing comprehensive marketing plans based on insights, and ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams. The position reports to the Vice President and GM of Surgical and requires strong leadership, collaboration, and strategic vision to drive brand growth and market presence in the eye health industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and implement a brand strategy by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and execute Advisory Board initiatives to support the Surgical Business and partner with Pharma teams for KOL, customer, and shared business initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Tradeshow and Conference Teams to enhance branding and customer engagement.
  • Identify and partner with high-performing ad agencies to deliver projects within budget.
  • Lead upstream and downstream marketing activities targeting both HCPs and consumers.
  • Manage cross-functional launch teams including Medical, R&D, Sales, Trade, Finance, Operations, PR, and Market Research.
  • Build strong relationships with HCPs to gain insights and inform marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales and field management to ensure seamless product launches.
  • Work closely with R&D to develop product pipelines.
  • Plan, execute, and measure brand initiatives, including developing marketing presentations for leadership.
  • Support the development of annual operating plans, sales targets, and revenue/expense forecasts.
  • Manage budgets effectively and mentor team members to achieve results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field; MBA/Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, preferably in eye care or surgical markets.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies across digital, social media, and print initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead within a complex matrix organization.
  • Strong skills in HCP and DTC brand marketing, market and competitive analysis, and project management.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to senior management.
  • Domestic travel required, approximately 20% overnight travel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the eye care or surgical industry.
  • Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Experience with managing budgets and financial information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
  • MBA or Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, especially in eye care or surgical markets
