About the Role

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve the systems of democracy and justice in the United States. It works on issues such as voting rights, campaign finance reform, ending mass incarceration, and preserving Constitutional protections. The Center combines research, policy development, and advocacy, operating as a think-tank, advocacy group, and communications hub. The internship involves supporting the Communications department, specifically the Brennan en Español team, through research, writing, and administrative tasks, with a focus on bilingual engagement and Spanish-language media.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with general research and administrative work for the Brennan Center Communications department, including coordinating meetings and drafting routine correspondence.
Attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations related to program work.
Help the BEE team with research for various projects, including the newsletter.
Write social media messaging and assist with social media posting.
Contribute to videos for social media platforms, including writing scripts, editing, and recording videos.
Monitor coverage in the Spanish-language and Latino press, as well as announcements and events by Latino organizations.

Requirements

Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
Experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is a must.
Detail-oriented, energetic, punctual, highly organized, and an independent self-starter.
Open to evolving responsibilities.
Current undergraduate student.

Nice to Have

Experience with database management.

Benefits & Perks

Paid internship at $17.50 per hour.
Approximately 10-20 hours per week.
Internship duration from September to December 2025.
