About the Role

At Houston Methodist, the Foundation Program Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of the comprehensive campaign plan. This position develops and tracks detailed project plans, collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders including campaign volunteer leadership, donors, executives, physicians, and staff to support the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the Foundation. The role involves designing, guiding, and executing strategies and programs to enhance donor and patient engagement, creating presentations and collateral, tracking program effectiveness, and ensuring quality to meet organizational metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and track detailed project plans including benchmarks, milestones, deliverables, goals, and key players.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders such as campaign volunteer leadership, donors, executives, physicians, and staff.
  • Design, guide, and execute strategies and programs for donor and patient engagement, experiences, and communications.
  • Schedule meetings and create presentations and collateral to support the campaign plan.
  • Track the effectiveness of programs, identify trends, and recommend goals and strategies.
  • Ensure the quality of programs meets organizational metrics.
  • Evaluate implementation and effectiveness of assigned programs, monitor progress, and identify corrective actions.
  • Support strategic moves management for prospective donor engagement.
  • Produce and coordinate dissemination of progress reports, presentations, and materials to stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal committees and follow up on action items.
  • Provide analysis and performance metrics for program assessment and improvement.
  • Monitor and improve workflows, employing lean principles and peer-to-peer accountability.
  • Leverage resources to ensure high-quality, accurate messaging internally and externally.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned programs, track trends, and identify financial opportunities.
  • Proactively problem-solve challenges and build upon healthcare fundraising knowledge.
  • Assess and analyze department needs, trends, and opportunities related to strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three years of experience in development, communications, media relations, marketing, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in project management, coordination, or event planning.
  • Experience in healthcare fundraising/development preferred.
  • Experience working with institutional leadership and staff.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English, especially regarding safety and security activities.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience with fundraising campaigns or fund development preferred.
  • Editing experience and familiarity with AP style guidelines preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate issues and performance results.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of major gifts fundraising (preferred).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with fundraising campaigns or fund development.
  • Familiarity with AP style guidelines.
  • Knowledge of major gifts fundraising for healthcare or academic medical centers.
