About the Role

AKQA Front-end Developers participate in the creation of sophisticated digital experiences and must have advanced understanding of front-end web development. They work with a team of highly skilled people, supporting a direct marketing team primarily developing HTML emails, as well as process, tooling, prototypes, and digital website content. This role includes about 50% of time allocation on Email Production. Candidates must be able to work West Coast hours and are not eligible for visa transfers or sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting a direct marketing team by developing HTML emails.
Developing process, tooling, prototypes, and digital website content to support the team's overall mission.
Translating comps and wireframes into flexible and usable code.
Implementing pixel perfect designs across a broad range of browsers and devices.
Building tools to automate and streamline processes.

Requirements

Experience developing marketing emails for premium brands.
Proficient with HTML, CSS-SASS, JavaScript, and associated web development/production tools.
Working knowledge of React and component architecture.
Experience with templates and task automation including NPM and webpack.
Experience developing accessible UI interfaces.
Knowledge of CSS Animation / CSS Transitions.
Experience using version control software (git) in a multi-developer team.
Experience with Sketch and Photoshop.
Experience with web development tools like xScope, PerfectPixel, and Xcode Simulator.
Experience with developing large customer-facing websites.
Experience building tools to automate and streamline processes.
3+ years' experience working as a front-end developer.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with web application development.
Ability to articulate technical concepts to clients and non-technical colleagues.
Thrives when facing new challenges in improving client deliverables.
Relentless attention to detail.
A passion for quality, receptive to feedback, and a desire to write bug-free code.

Nice to Have

3+ years' experience as a front-end developer.
