About the Role

The University of San Diego is seeking a Graphic Designer to support Auxiliary Services marketing efforts. This full-time, temporary position is rooted in the university's Catholic mission and involves coordinating and executing design projects across print, digital media, social media, website content, and email campaigns to promote various departments including campus dining, the university store, and a full-service restaurant. The role emphasizes creativity, brand consistency, and alignment with the university's values of equity, inclusion, and social justice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create graphic design pieces for all aspects of marketing and promotion for Auxiliary Services, including publications, flyers, posters, and digital content.
  • Coordinate with printers on and off campus for production of printed materials.
  • Configure and manage the back end system for the digital signage platform (Poppulo software).
  • Design and compose mass email newsletters using Salesforce (CRM software).
  • Create content and update social media accounts for Auxiliary Services.
  • Provide and update content (photos, text, layout) for Auxiliary Services websites.
  • Conduct photo and video shoots to document events and generate content for websites, print ads, products, menus, and social media.

Requirements

  • AA degree or applicable graphic design certification preferred.
  • Fluent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign).
  • Five years' experience in a marketing/graphic design position.
  • Working knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently under high pressure while managing multiple projects.
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to represent Auxiliary Services positively at public events and with various stakeholders.
  • Availability to work occasional overtime, including nights and weekends during peak periods.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with digital signage platforms (e.g., Poppulo).
  • Experience with website content management.

Qualifications

  • Educational background of an AA degree or relevant certification.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in graphic design or marketing.
