About the Role

The Group Manager of Strategic Sourcing is a leadership role responsible for overseeing a team of Strategic Sourcing and Category Managers and driving the sourcing and value chain optimization strategies for all marketing-related spend categories. This role collaborates with senior leaders across Intuit's Marketing and Communications ecosystem managing over $2 billion in annual spend across media, digital, social, creative, production, print, sponsorships, PR, and partners. The role involves identifying opportunities to drive operational improvements, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and ensuring best value from third parties and investments. It requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of connecting product strategies, company goals, and vendor relationships to support business transformation and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and responsibility for proactively leading and managing strategic sourcing initiatives with or without analytical support
  • Lead portfolio including multiple projects that require strategy, planning and execution of transformational, complex and innovative projects
  • Define, implement, and drive sourcing strategies and initiatives to support corporate earnings, growth, and business transformation objectives for the category portfolio
  • Drive total cost of ownership mindset with team and stakeholders, including strategic build/buy/acquire decisions
  • Connect product strategies with company goals and provide strategic input to management on organizational strategy and operational roadmap
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and management of a team, setting strategic priorities and developing goals
  • Build relationships with and influence executive stakeholders at all levels, primarily Director/VP and above
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure procurement efficiency, automation, supplier utilization, risk mitigation, and contract compliance
  • Partner with international teams to implement global suppliers and establish local engagement models
  • Own and drive opportunity assessments, including TCO analysis, to engage senior stakeholders
  • Identify potential sources of supply, evaluate supplier capabilities, and relate offerings to stakeholder needs
  • Lead and manage RFI/RFP processes from creation to vendor selection
  • Drive project activity across cross-functional teams, communicating expectations and enforcing deadlines
  • Gather and analyze data, requirements, and stakeholder insights to meet project objectives
  • Create documentation for executive presentations and deliver projects that support transformation, innovation, and cost savings
  • Partner with stakeholders to review vendor segmentation and manage vendor performance and continuous improvement activities
  • Manage a team of 3 or more, potentially geographically dispersed

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing-related strategic sourcing experience
  • Experience with Media, Data, and AI
  • Experience with ERP and Source-to-Pay tools
  • Experience developing and/or presenting business cases
  • Comfort with communicating quantitative and qualitative information to executives
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related quantitative discipline
  • Experience in contract development, administration, and management
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience negotiating deals with global vendors and managing global vendor relationships
  • Experience in value chain optimization and assessments
  • Experience managing transformational projects requiring high-level change management
  • Strong financial and quantitative modeling skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Willingness to support and interact with multiple international business units

  • Strong analytical skills; MS Excel proficiency; financial modeling experience
  • Strong written and communication skills; MS PowerPoint and MS Word proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams
  • Awareness of vendor management best practices (e.g., strategic alliances, supplier certification)
  • Excellent documentation and requirements analysis skills
