About the Role

The Head of Marketing Technology is responsible for leading and directing the strategic vision, engineering execution, and operational excellence of Truist's Marketing Technology domain. This role oversees multiple agile teams across various locations, manages high-visibility public-facing websites, and collaborates closely with marketing and enterprise data teams to support campaign execution, client engagement, and brand representation. The position emphasizes innovation, integration, and compliance within a complex financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the strategic direction for Marketing Technology in alignment with enterprise business and technology goals.
  • Provide technology thought leadership on marketing platforms, data, content supply chains, campaign enablement, consumer engagement, and privacy capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, engineering, implementation, and support of scalable, secure, and innovative marketing technology solutions.
  • Ensure end-to-end marketing capabilities and underlying data are effectively managed.
  • Partner with Marketing Product Management and Marketing Delivery to enable campaign execution and customer engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with enterprise data teams and line of business technology leaders to ensure seamless data integration and governance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering organization, including coaching senior managers and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Manage resource planning, performance management, and career development across a globally distributed team.
  • Own the first line of defense for risk management within the Marketing Tech domain and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery effectiveness, software quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, third-party contracts, supplier relationships, and technology investments to maximize ROI.

Requirements

  • Ten years' experience managing software engineers and systems analysts.
  • Five years' relevant business experience making technical-related decisions on the business side.
  • Five years' managing a large staff, including managers.
  • Five years' experience with budget responsibilities.
  • Ability to translate enterprise strategic planning into software and data management needs.
  • Strong executive communication, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Significant knowledge of current and emerging application software products and tools.
  • Extensive project management experience with multi-million dollar projects delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strong analytical and architectural skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of internal client relationships.
  • Knowledge of all phases of the software engineering lifecycle and process improvement models.

Nice to Have

  • Expertise with the Adobe product suite.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and modern data engineering practices.
  • Experience managing public-facing websites with a focus on brand integrity and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Educational background and related experience equivalent to at least ten years managing software engineers and systems analysts.
  • Experience managing large teams and budgets.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic technology plans.
  • Experience with enterprise-level software and data management.
