About the Role

The Hospital Liaison at Optalis Healthcare is responsible for developing strategic relationships with key hospital accounts, facilitating patient transitions to Optalis centers, and serving as a liaison between hospitals and Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Centers. The role involves managing referral processes, building relationships with healthcare professionals, and promoting Optalis programs and services to ensure quality patient care and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the centers' products and services, acuity capabilities, and physician relations.
  • Invests a minimum of 75% of work time on referral management, interacting daily with hospital discharge planning staff, providing updates on pending referrals, and gathering new referrals.
  • Completes patient assessments as needed to make sound admission decisions.
  • Uses IMPACT training to gain admission commitments from prospective referrals.
  • Invests 25% of work time on face-to-face referral development, including integration calls to physicians, hospital and medical professionals, and other contacts.
  • Provides and/or coordinates educational and informational presentations on Optalis programs and services for hospital departments and personnel.
  • Makes IMPACT business calls to hospital social workers, physicians, discharge planners, administrators, and affiliated agencies to understand their needs and communicate those to Optalis leadership.
  • Develops relationships with referral sources, seeks out new prospects, and maintains a target list of potential sources.
  • Develops and updates account plans monthly, and maintains active involvement in key account groups.
  • Uses key account development systems and tools, including CRM and IMPACT, to manage referral sources and understand business needs.
  • Schedules and leads effective presentations inside accounts, utilizing collateral materials.
  • Coordinates account activities with Care Transition team members and center staff for special events.
  • Plans and coordinates hospital marketing events and presentations.
  • Models customer service principles, promotes customer needs, and communicates customer objectives to team members.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of hospital market trends and competition.
  • Performs miscellaneous work assignments as required, including travel.

Requirements

  • Mid-level Bachelor's degree preferred; considerable experience in a comparable position will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to travel approximately 90% locally, including outside sales calls and periodic overnight travel.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and perform prolonged sitting, driving, standing, or walking.
  • Works in a safety-conscious manner, reports safety hazards, and complies with policies and regulations.
  • Interacts tactfully and diplomatically with patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Maintains dependable attendance, personal hygiene, grooming, and dress standards.
  • Ability to execute the terms and conditions outlined in the Employee Handbook and adhere to safety and workplace policies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in discharge planning or healthcare sales is advantageous.

Qualifications
