Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong and timely social media presence to disseminate information and promote the construction projects of FSD.
  • Manage promotional materials, publications, media coverage, press guides, news releases, and public outreach related to the dissemination of relevant information from the Facilities Services Division (FSD).
  • Review online articles, videos, and social media posts to ensure alignment with FSD's media plan and update outdated information shared with the public or community where schools are modernized or updated.
  • Develop content for the District website to promote students, teachers, special events, and other positive information.
  • Research, collect data and facts, compile information, and develop correspondence, news advisories, statements, featured articles, social media posts, and scripts for community newspapers, radio, and television stations.
  • Produce or edit informational and educational materials such as newsletters, handbooks, brochures, and other publications for dissemination.
  • Participate in information and public relations planning, providing input for FSD's goals and priorities, and propose information budgets to management.
  • Evaluate the value and cost-effectiveness of public relations efforts.
  • Support the Facilities Executive Office in creating presentations, written materials, and supporting documents for key meetings, especially board meetings.
  • Develop displays, exhibits, educational programs, or training avenues.
  • Support FSD branches, departments, and offices in promoting new initiatives, accomplishments, and results.
  • Work onsite at client sites to enable delivery and cultivate client relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or the planning and coordination of capital projects, including design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities.
  • At least 5 years of this experience must be with the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering.

Nice to Have

  • A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
