The role involves leading Medicare innovation product development for the G&A Department, contributing to product vision, managing team backlog, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring product performance and value delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Medicare innovation strategy and initiatives.
  • Provide clarity of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to the team; assess and refine as needed.
  • Understand the problems to be solved and identify solutions that deliver long-term value.
  • Partner with product leadership, customer experience, and design to incorporate customer perspectives.
  • Define team OKRs and develop feature-level measurement plans to evaluate progress.
  • Lead coordination with the Value Stream Lead, Module Owners, Business Analysts to document business requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are signed by the Value Stream Lead.
  • Communicate business requirements with DDAT for configuration or coding.
  • Build, prioritize, edit, and maintain the Team Backlog to ensure delivery of business value and customer satisfaction.
  • Support backlog prioritization and guide sequencing of work for optimal economic outcomes.
  • Break down solutions into Features and Stories aligned with the vision and roadmap.
  • Ensure backlog items and dependencies are entered and maintained in work management tools.
  • Articulate well-written Features and Stories, including Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Collaborate with Architecture to ensure capacity for Architectural Runway.
  • Communicate with IT on production defects and bring in SMEs as needed.
  • Validate features and stories meet acceptance criteria and quality standards.
  • Support testing, deployment, release, and post-release activities.
  • Work with engineering and others to optimize team models and align higher-level epics.
  • Use performance data to identify issues and develop insights about product health.
  • Track team KPIs, socialize progress, and reinforce objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, architecture, operations, and other teams using agile practices.
  • Produce product demos and present to stakeholders.
  • Serve as the point of contact for feature delivery and ensure broader alignment with the Epic.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management or product owner experience with product lifecycle within an Agile framework.
  • 3+ years of product strategy experience related to enhancing products or services.
  • 3+ years of experience with setting performance objectives and key results, reviewing analytics, and competitive analysis.
  • 3+ years of performing planning, delivering, and supporting product strategies.
  • 3 years of Health Insurance experience.
  • Excellent business acumen and business intelligence skills, with ability to understand technical ideas and communicate impact and value.
  • Proficient in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills and experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working in highly matrixed teams with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Adept at growth mindset skills, teamwork, and collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with G&A Systems (e.g., MHK, CATS, DAG).
  • Experience working in SAFe Agile environment, partnering with IT functions.
  • Driven process improvements or establishing new processes.
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
  • SAFe Agile certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (High school + 4 years relevant work experience).
  • Preferred: Master's degree.
