About the Role

The Internal Graphic Designer I role involves designing and producing collateral that supports a unified employee communications and branding strategy aligned with Navy Federal's strategic goals. The position requires performing moderately complex tasks with moderate impact and latitude, contributing to internal communication campaigns, branding standards, and cross-functional projects within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute designs and visual branding for internal communication products and services including online, print, multimedia, presentation, display and other interactive collateral
Participate in strategic and conceptual development meetings with clients to determine project requirements, objectives, and creative direction
Serve as a creative resource and point of contact for management on design and branding standards, vendor selection, production methods, and timelines
Present creative concepts to Lead Graphic Designer and Supervisor for communication campaigns
Create and implement designs for projects
Serve on teams and task groups for projects and initiatives within the business unit or across the organization
Monitor assigned projects to ensure goals and objectives are completed according to schedule; collaborate with project teams to meet business needs
Incorporate and leverage industry best practices while maintaining alignment with Navy Federal goals and capabilities
May provide photographic support for internal events and activities
Research online libraries for images to support design team projects
Support and take direction from colleagues leading large-scale projects
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience using design programs, creating print and online collateral for Employee Communication campaigns
Working knowledge of design principles, development standards, techniques, and methodologies
Knowledge of design fundamentals such as color theory, typography, and composition
Experience in interactive and visual design industry standards
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effective database and presentation software skills
Experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
Experience managing multiple priorities independently or in a team
Associate degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience

Nice to Have

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs including motion graphics and multimedia
Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies, and procedures
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field

Qualifications

Associate degree in graphic design or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Experience with mainstream InDesign desktop publishing programs
