IT Business Intelligence Analyst II / III | Power BI

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders to gather and prioritize data and reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain complex Power BI reports and dashboards that provide real-time insights and drive business performance.
• Utilize AI features in Power BI to enhance analytics.
• Optimize BI tools by refining data models, indexing, and filtering for efficiency and scalability.
• Design and implement Power BI custom visuals using JavaScript (Node.js).
• Integrate Power BI with external data sources using APIs and Microsoft Fabric.
• Manage and optimize Power BI Gateway Servers, including scheduling and performance tuning.
• Create and maintain Power BI data models with strong proficiency in DAX and M Query.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
• Champion the growth of the Power BI community, enabling self-service analytics and fostering best practices.
• Provide technical support and training to business users and stakeholders.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy, supporting decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Establish and maintain Power BI data governance policies and best practices for security, workspace management, and data lifecycle.

Requirements

• Strong Power BI expertise, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Strong command over SQL, including performance tuning and complex joins.
• Experience with JavaScript (Node.js) for building custom visuals and extensions.
• Experience with Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
• Proven experience in optimizing performance and troubleshooting BI tools.
• Knowledge of data modeling best practices and data governance principles.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of business intelligence database structures, algorithms, and auditing mechanisms.
• Experience with data warehousing and performance concepts.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, Oracle.
• Understanding of data warehouse objects, dimensions, hierarchies, fact tables, and aggregates.
• Skills in HTML and CSS for information design.
• Experience with graphic design practices for information presentation.
• Knowledge of visualization tools, database, and statistical programming languages such as SQL or R.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field.
• For Level II: PLUS four (4) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• For Level III: PLUS six (6) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
