About the Role

The Corporate Function Program Management Office (CFPMO) is seeking an experienced SAP project manager to oversee the planning, execution, management, implementation, and reporting of projects related to the APEX Program. The role involves replacing the existing SAP R3 platform with SAP S/4HANA to provide a modern, event-based financial system that enhances reporting and data analytics. The position is hybrid, based in Springfield, MA or Boston, with a potential extension through the end of 2026, and requires collaboration with project sponsors, program managers, and portfolio leads to support complex enterprise or strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Project Sponsors and Functional Managers to compile Discovery artifacts such as a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), Project Charter, Resource Plan, and Milestone Plan.
Develop and maintain required Detailed Planning artifacts and manage plan execution.
Determine project scope and manage scope execution across multiple large projects or medium to large programs with high complexity and risk.
Develop financial forecasts, record cost variance, anticipate and address delivery challenges, and request budget changes if needed following the Change Request Process.
Develop high-level milestones during Discovery and detailed project schedules during Detailed Planning.
Apply industry-leading project and program management knowledge to refine resource plans, develop a RACI Matrix, conduct Key-Person Risk Assessments, and Third-Party Support Needs Assessments.
Ensure early identification, resolution, and escalation of project risks through maintenance of Risk and Issue Logs and project Pre-Mortem activities.
Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility.
Meet all business requirements from development through implementation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience and expertise.
7+ years of project management experience.
3 to 4 years of experience in SAP or finance projects.
Basic understanding of SAP modules (such as FI/CO, S/4HANA, or FPSL) is preferred.
Proven success in delivering complex long-term projects on time, within budget, and to scope.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Experience in ERP implementations, SAP support, or finance transformation projects.
Proficiency in project management software including MS Project, Smartsheet, and Jira.
