IT Project Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project teams with a focus on guiding the teams toward improving the way they work; facilitating sprint planning, retrospective and demos
• Act as release / deliverable manager and assist the product owner and business analysts with managing the product and release backlogs
• Build project management office, assist in risk identification, resource management and other project governance activities
• Remove all obstacles to project team efficiency and effectiveness; reach out to the larger project team for impediment removal; ensure cross-team coordination
• Identify and maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing and inform project leaders and product owner
• Partner to ensure development activities are consistent across teams
• Liaise between developers and project stakeholders; foster quality communication between software engineering disciplines
• Manage product releases and dependencies between teams and third parties or between assigned teams and other Scrum teams
• Analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components
• Ensure appropriate staffing for assigned projects or tasks; develop personnel
• Schedule and allocate work, provide advice and guidance, and resolve problems to meet technical performance
• Develop new and refine existing processes to enhance quality and productivity
• Ensure product quality and timeliness of efforts

Requirements

• College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline, or experience considered in lieu of degree
• Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner with demonstrated experience with Scrum teams or Project Management Professional certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong software development background, with a minimum of three (3) years' experience facilitating incremental software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach
• Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, configuration management, quality assurance, and release management
• Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter
• 8+ years of related technical experience
• Desired: Cloud experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or MS Azure
• Desired: Previous CDC experience
