About the Role

RGP is seeking to hire an IT Project Manager who is proficient in Agile methodologies. The right person is also ready to lead as a scrum master for multiple scrum teams, assist in facilitating the release management process within our organization, and manage stand-alone IT projects outside of the sprint delivery. The IT Project Manager will work closely with senior project manager(s) and cross functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, a deep understanding of Agile principles, and a proven track record as a scrum master in an Agile at Scale environment. This is a great opportunity to leverage your technical expertise across functions and drive projects forward in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Agile ceremonies within a sprint such as sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with business goals and priorities
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability within the team
  • Work with the product owner, development team, and other stakeholders to plan releases, considering factors such as feature prioritization, cross application and function impact, resource availability, and delivery timelines
  • Assist in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that user stories are well-defined, estimated, and ready for development
  • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact scrum team project and/or sprint delivery
  • Collaborate with other scrum masters to identify cross functional risks
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address challenges proactively
  • Track key metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and release burndown to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement, providing regular updates to stakeholders
  • Manage expectations and provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding release timelines, scope changes, and any potential impacts on project delivery
  • Continuously develop your skills and knowledge in Agile practices and project management techniques through training, self-study, and hands-on experience
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure that each increment meets the required quality standards before release, coordinating testing activities as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a scrum master in an Agile at Scale environment, preferably in a corporate IT environment with cloud application based teams
  • 3+ years of experience in a scaled agile environment working with multiple scrum teams
  • Experience with one of Workday HCM, Workday FIN, or Salesforce
  • Deep understanding of current Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g. Avature, Greenhouse, Taleo)
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with project management tools such as Fresh Release, Smartsheets, JIRA, Trello, or Asana
  • Certification in Agile frameworks (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP) or commensurate experience
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and opportunities
  • Experience working in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
