About the Role

The IT Portfolio Manager at Signet Jewelers will be responsible for effectively performing financial and project portfolio management duties for IT Enterprise Services. This role involves demand planning, budgeting, forecasting, vendor communication, and reporting, ensuring the portfolio complies with IT PMO standards and controls. The position supports multiple Digital/Technology areas and reports to the IT Director of Portfolio Management, contributing to the company's people-first culture and commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate demand sizing activities and meetings for new project requests and assemble estimates for capital budget submittal
  • Consolidate team-level estimates into a comprehensive IT Enterprise Services resource forecast plan for budget review and approval
  • Monitor budget approvals for all previously sized demands to ensure timely financial alignment and project execution
  • Submit SOW (Statement of Work) contracts for all IT Enterprise Services Digital/Technology organizations
  • Track and maintain the project budget forecasts by organization, project, and contract level
  • Support Vendor Management Office requests to help resolve issues in the SOW process
  • Monitor timely submittal of vendor invoices and perform goods receipts/coding upon receipt, ensuring contract-level forecast updates reflect accurate invoice data
  • Create and submit monthly forecasts for owned and supported projects within IT Enterprise Services
  • Investigate and resolve forecast variances in collaboration with IT Enterprise Services Directors, Project Managers, or cross-functional teams
  • Ensure vendors meet SLAs and follow proper procedures in SOW and invoice submission
  • Generate a monthly portfolio status report with statistical data, risks, and issues for leadership
  • Engage with Legal or Sourcing Departments and participate in RFP processes as needed
  • Assist with enforcement of project management governance frameworks, policies, standards, and processes within IT Enterprise Services and the IT PMO
  • Support the management of project lifecycle stages including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Support the establishment and refinement of processes, tools, and artifacts such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and resource forecasts
  • Work with leaders and vendors for capacity planning, ensuring resource allocations are within budgeted forecasts
  • Assist with performance measurement and reporting, including defining KPIs and metrics
  • Monitor projects for risks, issues, and impediments, and work with project managers to develop contingency plans
  • Create monthly reports and summaries on portfolio health and status
  • Provide dashboards and reports for IT Enterprise Services and leadership
  • Generate demand roadmaps for capacity planning for leadership and external vendors
  • Create initial project artifact frameworks when demands are approved and transitioned to delivery teams
  • Document existing and new procedures related to portfolio management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Highly proficient in SAP modules related to financial flows such as purchase orders and invoicing
  • Strong experience with Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, dashboards, and data analysis
  • Experience with project portfolio support tools such as Jira and Smartsheet
  • Certifications in PMI Portfolio Project Management Professional and/or Project Management Professional are preferred
  • Financial Management certifications, training, or equivalent work experience are preferred
  • Experience supporting a multi-million-dollar portfolio or similar responsibility in a large corporation for 10+ years
  • Previous work experience in a mid-level role within IT Finance or Finance
  • Knowledge of PMBOK PMP processes and disciplines related to project management and financial processes
  • Familiarity with agile and hybrid waterfall/agile project management methodologies
  • Experience managing cost estimates, CAPEX/OPEX, and forecasting
  • Experience with vendor relationship management, resource capacity planning, and budgeting
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management processes
  • Supporting knowledge of vendor management office, finance, sourcing, and legal areas

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in PMI Portfolio Project Management Professional and/or Project Management Professional
  • Financial Management certifications, training programs or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira Service Management (JSM) suite
