About the Role

The IT Project Manager II serves as an Office of Information Technology (OIT) liaison and mentor for OIT operational managers and project teams. The role focuses on best practices for project management on both departmental and enterprise-wide IT projects, managing medium to complex IT projects, overseeing project plans, and providing feedback and mentorship to entry-level project managers. The position involves managing IT projects for construction, reviewing construction drawings, managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, and verifying project charges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an OIT liaison and mentor for operational managers and project teams on project management best practices.
  • Manage medium, moderately complex, critical, and non-critical IT projects requiring expertise in project management.
  • Oversee, plan, and implement project plans.
  • Review construction drawings related to IT projects.
  • Manage project budgets, including obtaining estimates from various organizational areas.
  • Coordinate installation with vendors.
  • Verify project charges with Construction Accounting to audit and close out projects.

Requirements

  • Master's degree; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT project management experience; OR associate's degree and four (4) years of IT experience including two (2) years of IT project management; OR high school diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience including two (2) years of IT project management.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at the time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in higher education.
  • CAPM or PMP credential.
  • Demonstrated formal project management training.
  • Experience with construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be at least 19 years old at the time of hire.
