Junior Project Manager - IT Program Management - Full Time

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to suggest and discuss the development of new systems, evaluate existing systems, and acquire vendor packages by understanding customer requirements.
• Work with an operational Project Leader or application manager on major system implementations, providing all aspects of project management.
• Collaborate with IS leadership, other project managers, vendors, and operational teams to prepare implementation plans for system development, modifications, and vendor system installations.
• Coordinate with Vendor Project Team and Vendor Management Team to resolve issues or risks impacting project timeline, scope, or cost.
• Develop and maintain procedures to ensure efficient handling of user requests for IS application resources for projects and ongoing support.
• Participate in needs assessment, requirements definition, requests for proposals, site visits, vendor demonstrations, communication with vendors, contract negotiations, vendor selection, and all phases of the project management lifecycle.
• Promote continuous quality improvement, reengineering, and support the principles of a learning organization.
• Maintain current knowledge of technology and industry trends, especially those related to healthcare technology and business drivers.

Requirements

• BS or BA in computer science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated IT experience in a complex healthcare environment.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated project leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Educational background in computer science or related field.
• Experience in healthcare IT and project management.
