Job Description

About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking Lead Data Management Analysts to support the establishment of the new Chief Operating Office (COO) Data Domain, supporting enterprise-wide data management initiatives and regulatory priorities. This role is pivotal in shaping the data strategy, governance, and quality framework for the COO domain, with a strong focus on business-critical use cases, regulatory compliance, and domain-specific data structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality and documentation is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
  • Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
  • Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues
  • Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures
  • Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data and designation of data as fit for purpose
  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
  • Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
  • Serve as relationship manager for a line of business
  • Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
  • Represent COO in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies and manage inter domain implications
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Strong knowledge and experience in risk and control identification methods and performing assessments
  • Deep technical understanding of data management operations, processes, products, and data management risks
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and corporate policies
  • Experience with enterprise data models, metadata management tools, and data lineage documentation
  • Proficiency in Data Quality Tools such as Collibra, Informatica Data Quality, Alation, or similar platforms
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and develop actionable insights
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading data-related change initiatives
  • Familiarity with data domains such as customer, product, transaction, and reference data within financial services
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks like BCBS 239, CCAR, or GDPR
  • Certifications: CDMP, PMP, CISA, Collibra Ranger or similar
