The Lead, Digital Strategy for NBS Marketing will drive the vision, execution, and optimization of digital marketing and web strategies across multiple brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the digital strategy roadmap across Nelnet Business Services brands and web platforms.
  • Lead cross-functional digital initiatives that support brand, demand generation, content, and conversion goals.
  • Define and implement UX and SEO strategy in alignment with brand and content goals; ensure web analytics frameworks support strategic decision-making.
  • Writing creative briefs, project plans, and project estimates for digital work.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes for web governance, optimization, and performance reporting.
  • Align with web, creative, and content teams to ensure a cohesive digital presence and execution of the digital roadmap.
  • Lead the strategy and implementation of A/B and multivariate testing to inform digital UX and content decisions.
  • Oversee programmatic media buying strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with campaign goals, audience targeting, and budget efficiency.
  • Manage external vendor relationships and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of digital projects.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Intelligence and AI Specialist to turn web performance data into actionable insights that inform content direction and UX enhancements.
  • Stay current on digital trends, technologies, and emerging best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Communications, UX, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in digital strategy or digital marketing across multiple brands or business units.
  • Proven success in web optimization, digital campaign execution, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Experience in managing or overseeing programmatic media buying platforms and strategies (e.g., Google DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP).
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Sitecore), Google Analytics (including Tag Manager & Search Console), SEO tools, and marketing automation systems.
  • Experience working in Hubspot or equivalent Marketing CRM platforms.
  • Deep understanding of digital UX, SEO, and performance analytics.
  • High level of verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills.
  • High attention to detail and project management experience.
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into benefits for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with agile workflows and digital sprint planning.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Passion for digital innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
