About the Role

The Lead Director of Brand & Industry Marketing Strategy at CVS Media Exchange (CMX) is responsible for defining and building the CMX brand, positioning it internally and externally, and creating long-term brand equity. This role involves leading a team focused on innovative brand marketing, communications, storytelling, and industry activations to drive advertiser acquisition and retention. The position reports to the Head of CMX Marketing and collaborates with various internal teams and external agencies to develop strategic marketing plans and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team focused on defining and building the CMX brand, including brand strategy, architecture, content calendar, and narrative across all touchpoints.
  • Develop and execute the annual marketing and editorial calendar supported by campaigns to drive advertiser acquisition and retention.
  • Implement a lead management process for the Partner Management Team.
  • Drive the development and strategy for the CMX marketing plan, including messaging, industry events, speaking engagements, and sales enablement.
  • Define and activate the owned and earned content calendar across channels such as the CMX site, LinkedIn, and eNewsletter, in partnership with CVS Health Corporate Communications and external PR agencies.
  • Partner with Consumer Insights to understand advertiser needs and opportunities through semi-annual brand tracker surveys.
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, analyze spending, and ensure cost-effectiveness and ROI.
  • Lead and mentor a marketing team, fostering a culture of inspiration, growth, and empowerment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of marketing strategy experience with a strong foundation in retail or commerce media, B2B consumer product goods, pharma, or media agency environments.
  • 6+ years of cross-functional leadership experience.
  • 4+ years of brand marketing or commerce agency/strategy experience.
  • 4+ years of digital marketing experience, including testing and validating emerging opportunities, with emphasis on B2B content.
  • 2+ years of brand or category management experience is a plus.
  • Strong retail/commerce media acumen and understanding of the market landscape.
  • Proven ability to craft compelling B2B storytelling and manage a flexible content and event calendar.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and collaborating with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field; MBA preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience (HS Diploma + 4 years).
  • MBA preferred.
